Loyalty rules allow you to program reactions to certain conditions occurring within loyalty programs, such as purchases of a specific number of items (e.g., "buy 3 get one free") or birthdays.
When you define a loyalty program, it is quite static: it allows members to collect points based on receipts and to move between tiers (if present). With loyalty rules you can make your program dynamic: you do not have to adapt your loyalty strategy to Splio, you can use the loyalty rules to adapt the programs within Splio to your loyalty strategy.
Loyalty rules take the form of programmed reactions to specific conditions. As soon as the conditions are met, outcomes of the loyalty rule are applied.
Accessing loyalty rules
To access the loyalty rules, go to LOYALTY > Programs. If you have more than one loyalty program in your universe, select the one for which you want to create or manage rules. Open the "Rules" tab under the name of the program. The tab contains a searchable list of existing rules.
Creating loyalty rules
To create a rule, click the "+New rule" button on the right. In the vertical panel on the right, enter the name of the rule, its scope (entire program or a single tier), start and end dates, as well as restrictions: choose "unlimited" to have the rule trigger any number of times for each contact, or "limited" to restrict the triggering to once per a selected amount of time.
Note that if you define an interval which ends after the end date, the rule will only work once for each contact.
To create a condition, click the blue "+Add condition" button. You will be asked to choose between conditions related to purchases, birthdays, or program subscription.
You can add a maximum of two conditions: one involving the purchase and one relative to the time. If you make a mistake, you can always use the "X" button to delete a condition.
Purchase conditions can match all products or specific product items and categories. For each, you can specify such filters as spent amount, number of transactions, or quantity. You can also restrict the condition to purchases completed in a set amount of time.
You can have the condition trigger on a contact's birthday or subscription to a program, as well as during a set number of days following this event.
Use the blue "+Add outcome" button to create outcomes for your rules. The available outcomes include crediting users with a set number of Q or NQ points, applying a Q/NQ point multiplayer to a receipt, or assigning a reward to the contact (to do so, you need to create the reward first).
