Creating a Landing Page
Table of Contents
The concept behind the Landing Pages is to deliver content through a simpler message. In Splio, landing pages are used to enrich SMS and in combination with WeChat News messages, each of which can redirect to one or more landing pages.
The Landing Pages are managed as a separate category of designs, see the Landing pages library guide for more details.
Creation of the design
To begin, prepare the content of your landing page. Then go to DESIGNER > Landing pages designs and click the New landing page design button on the right.
Type a name for the new page in the Name / Reference* field and follow to the Landing page editor page.
Paste or upload your design in the editor. You can use the same options available for e-mail messages. The same restrictions also apply, e.g., on the use of the WYSIWYG editor.
To complete the creation of your landing page, click the green Save button.
This landing page will now be available for use in your campaigns.
SMS landing pages
Stored landing pages can be used to enrich SMS, normally limited to 160 characters, with additional content.
In order to include an existing landing page in a rich SMS, go to the Landing page editor as the Enriched SMS guide shows, and use the Select from library button.
The landing page library will open in a pop-up panel. Select the landing page you need, using the context search if necessary. Confirm by clicking the green Select button.
The code of the page will be copied to the editor. You can save it or modify it as you need it.
There are no special restrictions associated with SMS landing pages.
It is enough to send a single test to see if the landing page is displayed properly on mobile devices.
WeChat landing pages
The landing pages are used with WeChat as article content. WeChat enforces the following requirements on all landing pages:
- customization is not allowed, meaning that you cannot insert any dynamic values or conditional blocks, or use any other personalization tools specific to Splio,
- all images used in the design must be reachable, and
- all images must be 1 MB or smaller.
Each time you save a landing page, it is checked for WeChat compliance.
The WeChat compliance / noncompliance status can be seen on the right when you open any landing page. Also, all noncompliant elements are listed, as shown in the image below.
This is very important as all the landing page data is actually transferred to WeChat to be used.
It is recommended that you should send a test of any WeChat design containing a landing page to check if it is displayed as expected in WeChat.
