The first sequence of each scenario offers you an option to "refresh population count". Activating it will force Splio to recalculate the population before the campaign is sent.
This option allows you to create and launch campaign scenarios a long time in advance.
Normally, a campaign population is calculated once, at the time of the launch. This population is then used throughout the campaign.
The refresh population count option changes the behavior of Splio so that the target is calculated again before the scheduled time. Splio actually begins the recalculation about 10 minutes in advance.
Warning: Never use this option with campaigns which will be sent immediately after creation. If you do so, you will actually force Splio to calculate your population twice, which may cause delays, (especially if you have used complex filters), or even cancellations.
SMS scheduling and alert
If the actual population at the time of sending using the SMS channel is larger than the original count by 10% or 100 recipients, whichever is greater, your campaign will be paused. The reason for the pause is to prevent invoicing overflow, that is, a situation where you are forced to pay for SMS you never intended to send in the first place.
You can resume the campaign manually. You may also set up an alert to warn you when your campaign gets paused using the Alert center.
Go to ADMIN > Alerts and create a "New alert."
In the "Rules" tab, select the category "Campaign" and the event "SMS campaign paused" like in the image below.
Now, add yourself and other users who need to receive this alert in the "Users" tab on the left. Use the "External recipients" tab to add more email addresses to be alerted.
Click "Save" when ready.
For more information about creating alerts, refer to the Alert center guide.
Remember!! Sending SMS from the alert center counts against your universe's balance. If you run out of SMS credits, the users you added in the "Users" tab will still receive alerts but only as email.
