To create a push notification campaign, go to campaigns > notifications > create.
Then, enter the message you wish to display to your contacts and add customisation (optional) as shown in the screenshot (usually the user's first name).
You can select the date and time for the notification to be sent at and whether it should be a push notification or SMS and to which audience this should be sent to.
Character limitation: please note that currently there is no character limitation that we know of as depending on the screen size of the user, this will be truncated (typically two lines maximum are allowed to be displayed and the user will then just need to tap on their screen to display the full notification).
Note: for Android users, you can specify which url will open when the users tap on the notifications however this is not possible for iOS users as the Apple Wallet doesn’t allow this feature (it will only open the pass if you tap on the notification).
There is a workaround for iOS users if you want to link a notification to a URL by using the field ‘more information’ which is situated at the back of the pass.
For more details on this feature, please reach out to your Splio contact.
Once you have added all the details, hit save.
Your notification will then go into a ‘scheduled’ status, if you do not save it, it will stay as a draft in the list of notifications.
Note: the notification, once scheduled, will remain in a 'sending' status for 24 hours to allow mobile phones which were not available when sending the notification (airplane mode, no coverage etc ...) to receive it later.
