Campaigns and operations management
SCENARIO is the center of campaigns and operations management. It allows to create campaigns containing one or multiple actions, and to group them by operations.
An operation is defined by a set of campaigns and actions sharing the same objective, as well as the global population on which the actions are executed. For instance, a "Birthday operation”, which takes place all year long for existing customers, could have multiple campaigns, one for each channel on which the customers are subscribed. This operation would have a campaign for VIP customers that are subscribed to print communications, one for SMS subscribers, one for email subscribers, and so on.
The operation will then regroup all the reports and statistics from its campaigns together, allowing to get either global operation reporting as well as per campaign and action performance statistics.
A campaign is the set of actions to be executed on a precise target. A campaign starts with an initial population, on which one or more actions are performed in time. To continue the birthday example, our customers that are subscribed to both email and SMS would be in a campaign where an email is sent 3 days before their birthday, followed by an SMS the morning of their birthday. In parallel, another campaign would be executed on email subscribers or print customers.
An action within a campaign is the message that is delivered to the recipient. It contains its delivery settings (date, time, etc.), the channel (email, SMS, print...), and the message itself. Each action can be evaluated independently from the campaign, or together with the other actions.
Campaigns and operations management in SCENARIO
SCENARIO visually represents the structure of campaigns and its actions through a tree-like view of the contacts' journey.
Each campaign can be associated with an operation by entering the operation code during the creation of the campaign.
The operation code can then be used in REPORT to create custom per-operation reports.
