Overview
This article covers the use of the Export function newly available in the DATA module. It is usually accessed by using a navy-blue "Export" button located in the upper right of the main window.
With Export, you can extract whole tables from your universe's database and download them as ZIPped CSV files.
Contacts
To export contacts go to Data > Contacts and click on the "Export" button as shown below:
It opens the export modal. Inside, select the fields that you want to export. You can use "select all" to select all available fields. The blue tiles on the right allow you to order the fields as you need them with drag and drop.
Click on the green "Export" button when done.
You will receive a message that your import is being processed. Wait for it to end before creating another import.
Pick up your exported data
As soon as the export is done, you will receive an email notification like this:
Click on the "download" link in the email to connect to Splio and download your data.
The download is a ZIP archive containing a CSV file.
Note: If you are not logged in to Splio when downloading the export, Splio will ask you to log in.
Blacklists
Exporting blacklisted contacts allows you to analyze when and why blacklisting happens.
To export blacklist addresses and phone numbers, go to Data > Blacklists then select "export" from the "options" menu, like in the image below.
In the export modal, you can choose the data which interests you and how it is arranged in columns. Click "export" when ready.
Splio will send you an email message as soon as your export is ready.
Sales data
To export sales data, go to Data > Sales then go to the tab from which you want to export data: products, stores, receipts, or abandoned carts.
Click the blue "export" button to begin.
You may choose the fields you want to export and change the order in which they will appear in the exported file.
Click "export" to continue. Splio will inform you that your export is being processed and notify you by email when it's ready.
Loyalty points history & rewards history
With this functionality you can export loyalty data belonging to a single contact. Therefore, the blue "export" button is not used.
Instead, to begin go to Data > Contacts and select the contact for whom you want to export data. Click on Loyalty > Loyalty points history or Loyalty > Rewards to preview the data.
Go to the "tools" menu on the right and select the data you want to export.
You can export both loyalty points history and rewards history as a CSV file or as a compressed file (a ZIP file with a CSV document inside). Compression can greatly reduce the size of the export.
Custom export
Clicking one of the two custom options at the bottom of the list will allow you to select the fields you want to include in your export and to change their order in the CSV file.
Click "export" to finish and download the file.
Exporting filters
With Splio, you can export the content of any filter. This is especially relevant when you want to use Splio to analyse your database: you can create any filter based on a complex set of conditions, then export this with as many field as necessary to continue the analysis in Excel or another tool.
We have created a filter and named it "[Guide] Export Demo (products)". In the conditions tab, we are going to use a category to target products related to keeping pets.
Save the filter and wait a little while for the calculation to finish. Then select "export" from the "options" menu as shown below:
In this case we have removed the "category" column (the values would be the same for all rows anyway).
Click "export" and wait for an email message, then pick up your exported file. Congratulations! You have just exported your first filter.
Scheduled exports
If needed, you can automate exports in order to receive for example reports in Monday morning in your inbox. This feature can work on a daily, weekly or monthly frequency and works as follows:
Example: go to Data > Sales Data > Receipts
Then hit 'Scheduled' to see the options available such as name for your export, frequency, time of the report sent to you and the end date if needed:
Once you hit 'Export', the report will be sent to you via email at the next scheduled slot.
Note: this feature can be found in different places in the platform. For now, it is only available in Data > sales data (this will include the data on products, stores, receipts or abandonned carts) and will be deployed in other section in future releases.
You can then find the list of your scheduled exports in the Report menu:
Exporting groups
Exporting groups is even easier than exporting filters. Since groups are static, all you need to do is go to Target > Groups and click on the group you want to export. Then use the "options" menu in the group:
Here you can decide which columns will be exported and in which order. Click the "export" button when you are done.
Wait for the email message with a link to download your exported group.
Quick export from the list
You can also perform a quick export directly from the list. Just click on the three dots icon by the group you want to export and select the format. The "custom export" option will open the dialog window where you can select columns.
