Some events in Splio need to follow timelines: they must occur in a specific order for the processes to function. This article aims at explaining some of such timelines step by step.
Order to points conversion.
This timeline illustrates what happens when a loyalty program member participates in an event, e.g., a purchase.
While non-purchase events may not always use the conversion rate, they can grant points with rules.
Points timeline.
The whole life of non-qualifying (NQ) points takes place on the loyalty card of a program member.
NQ points come into existence when they are added to the card. They become visible immediately but can only be used after the holding period.
Unused points will expire. However, if a loyalty program uses cascading, the validity of all points in that program is extended each time new points are earned.
Rewards timeline.
This timeline relies on the existence of a Master Reward, which describes the properties of each reward given to cardholders. It must be created manually or imported beforehand.
The teal bar shows the life of an individual reward, of the type defined by the Master Reward, that is attributed to a program member. Its ID is called an attribution ID.
When a program member burns her or his reward, they exchange it for something more tangible, like a voucher or a promo code.
