When you start creating your first campaign in Splio Referral, there are a few things you should take into account:
1. Code identifying your campaign based on the URL
During the configuration phase, you will have set up the URL for your account. In our example "https://gfz.io/splio/". Each time you create a new campaign, you shall enter a word identifying it, which will be added at the end of the already existing URL: https://gfz.io/splio/ + demo = https://gfz.io/splio/demo
This URL will enable the Splio platform to be linked to your Splio Referral campaign and usually inserted in a CTA or image within your design.
Now you can easily find the Publisher ID and Campaign ID directly on your campaign overview.
2. Campaign description
Be concise, clear and indicate the benefits of the offer for both the referrer and his/her friends. The campaign description will be found at the bottom of the landing pages.
3. Start/end date
When you enter the start date you won't be able to change it after validating the campaign. The end date can be changed anytime instead. In case you need to apply a different start date, you shall create a new campaign.
4. Promo code
There are three formats available on the platform: alphanumeric, EAN13 and CODE39
However, if you wish to use other formats, this is also possible on request. Please get in touch with your Splio contact to specify your need.
Once selected the preferred format, you shall define the end date of your promo codes. Splio Referral is offering two different ways to manage it:
a) PROMO CODE END DATE: defining the end date based on the validity date of your campaign.
You shall enter a date at least 15 days after the end date of your campaign.
You've sent a campaign lasting the whole month of April. Your promo codes will expire on 2021-04-30 + 15 days (calendar date based on the end date of your campaign).
Use cases:
• seasonal ongoing offer (spring promo)
• monthly promo
b) VALIDITY OF THE CODES (IN DAYS): defining the end date based on the emission date of the promo codes.
You shall enter the number of days.
If you wish to send a short-time offer, you should rather force your promo code to end soon. If you receive the promo code today, it will end $today$ + 3 days (relative end date based on the emission date).
Use cases:
• flash offer on food industry to chase clients to come and purchase in less than three days
• promo on punctual short-time events such as Mother's Day, Black Friday or Christmas
5. Gift value
The value of the gift can be monetary or a %. In the first case, make sure to select the currency you wish to display for a number (Euros, Pounds, Dollars), otherwise if you wish to apply a % select "None".
We recommend that you use the same discount amount for both the referrer and the friend. However, you may also want to set a higher discount for the referrer, who brought the friend.
6. Terms & conditions
They are mandatory for each new campaign you are creating and will be displayed below the conditions of the gift.
